Wrinkles don’t just affect women. However, for years women have almost exclusively enjoyed the benefits of Botox and other anti-aging injectables. It’s not until fairly recently that men have started taking advantage of this highly effective way to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and moderate to severe crow’s feet. In fact, more than 385,000 men in the U.S. got Botox injections last year, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. That’s a 310% increase from a decade ago (ref: CNN.com).
So why are so many men flocking to it now? Experts say there are many reasons.
1) Aesthetic procedures are becoming more acceptable across the board
2) The economic downturn has made the job market much more competitive and as a result, professional men want to appear younger
3) Influence from mothers and wives who’ve are experienced the benefits.
